European SMEs present sustainable & innovative solutions to Mexican hospitality industry during the Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit

On September 6th, in the framework of the EU project wellianceHOSPITALITY, Cluster of Environmental Technologies Bavaria (Umweltcluster Bayern) hosted a virtual matchmaking “Solutions for climate change adaptation & sustainability in Mexican hospitality” within the Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit in Cancun, Mexico.

Keynote speaker Rosaura Cuevas Villar, Regional Advisor in Riviera Maya for the GIZ (project ADAPTUR) gave detailed insights in the environmental challenges hospitality faces in Mexico due to effects of climate change and the urgent need for sustainable solutions in the sector.

Subsequently more than 20 SME members of the different wellianceHOSPITALITY clusters (CAP Construction, Catalan Water Partnership, Cluster Lumière, CENFIM and Umweltcluster Bayern), had the opportunity to virtually get in touch with different hotel & hospitality representatives based in Mexico, who were interested in learning about the sustainable and innovative technologies and services of European SMEs for this specific sector.
